Jenkins manages and controls development life-cycle processes of all kinds, including build, document, test, package, stage, deployment, static analysis and many more.
It supports version control tools, including Subversion, Git, and can execute Apache Ant, Apache Maven based projects as well as arbitrary shell scripts and Windows batch commands.
The Jenkins project was started in 2004 by Kohsuke Kawaguchi. Released under the MIT License, Jenkins is free software. Today the Jenkins community offers more than 1,300 plugins that allow Jenkins to integrate with almost any popular technology.
